![]() If you can only afford to drive one car, nothing compares to this one. I say to anyone who asks, that there is no car I would swap mine for. The car provides extraordinary engine and systems live data and, while performing like a racing car, plays the music from your mobile and gives you a DAB radio and DVD player. The review was also uncomplimentary about the car's internal trim, I am amazed. The steering is direct, but never in five years of daily driving GTRs have I found the car following a line other than the one I was steering it towards, it simply remains glued to the road. Yes, the beautifully upholstered rear seats would not be comfortable for those with long legs, but no other car with this shattering performance even has rear seats. The Carbuyer review describes the car as uncomfortable but all supercars are stiff, the GTR is in fact more comfortable than most of its rivals and can effortlessly take on long motorway driving without discomfort for the driver or passengers. I previously drove an Audi R8 and this car is superior in every respect and was £30k less expensive. These cars are a love affair for those that own them. I guess in part that comes from 10 years of evolution. ![]() So many cars have some many design flaws and quirks, not these. The tyres are specifically engineered for the cars and the wet grip is beyond belief, four-wheel drive adding so much to its ability to put the power down but the tyres themselves are a work of art. The standard cars are set up for the UK’s bumps and lumps on a typical country lane. I really wonder if the tester here actually drove the car in earnest off the track. I have enjoyed fantastic reliability and the cars in their latest form (2017 model year on) are supremely comfortable real mile-munchers and just waiting for the moment they can be unleashed. The last time I did such a drive just after Xmas, I laughed aloud and in my mind the words ‘this thing is dancing over this’. I read the review here in disbelief! I have often blasted my ones over Exmoor on tortuous twisting heavily cambered roads that includes costs and troughs and these cars belie their weight. I bought my first one in 2017 (expecting to not love it) and recently managed to get one of the 18 50th Anniversary ones that were sold last year in the UK. Yet, my rating of the standard GT-R is - that it’s just epic regardless of the best of the so-called best. I am lucky enough to be regularly in and out of many new Ferraris, Lambos and Mclarens on and off the track.
